COVID Restriction Mandate Changes at Cornerstone
In March 2020, when the first SHA restriction mandates were implemented, our Cornerstone leadership chose to adhere to all regulations implemented, and we have continued to do so.
Premier Scott Moe and the SHA are lifting all COVID restrictions effective February 28th, including no longer requiring any masks to be worn in a public building. Cornerstone will continue to follow our government and that means starting on Monday, February 28th we will no longer be requiring masks to be worn in our building.
Our passion during this time has been to focus on Jesus as our foundation, as our literal Cornerstone, and to seek His heart and perspective in every situation. As found in the Board's statement below, "We long to be a church united, centered on Jesus" and we want to continue to follow His example of loving others and yearning for unity amongst believers.
We also understand that there may be people who would like to continue wearing masks and we want you to know if you prefer to still wear a mask, you are still welcome to come and worship with us. For those that would prefer extra levels of precaution, we are keeping our balcony area designated as a physical distancing and mask wearing required section. We thank everyone for their continued participation in loving each other well through our actions.

Statement from the Board regarding COVID-19
On October 31st, 2021 the following statement was read during the Worship Service by the Board Chair, Justin Thomas.
Cornerstone Church is a Great Commandment, Great Commission church that equips disciples who passionately seek, obey, and reflect Jesus.
We, the Cornerstone Church Board are grateful to the Cornerstone staff for continually navigating the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting public health orders. We understand that there are many different perspectives regarding pandemic response and we want to reassure everyone that Cornerstone Church is a place where everyone is welcome. We intend to submit to government authority unless it pushes us to disrespect, disobey, or deny Christ (Romans 13:1-7, 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Acts 4:18-20, Acts 5:28-29). We are committed to ongoing evaluation of our response to the government health orders as they are presented, keeping in mind our biblical response to governing authorities.
We long to be a church united, centered on Jesus. Ephesians 4:2-3 states, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” We desire to focus on Jesus and His command to love God and one another (Matthew 22:37-39) and will not let COVID-19 define us as a congregation.
While our main intent is for people to worship together in person, we will continue to support the use of streaming services as a way to connect with people and draw them to Jesus and community.
We appreciate your ongoing prayerful support as we seek to glorify God and serve Cornerstone Church. These have not been easy times and our goal at Cornerstone Church is to remain unified as a body of believers in Christ.
If you would like to connect with us, please reach out to the Cornerstone Church board (firstname.lastname@example.org or through the church main office at 306-931-4949).
